Michigan in Pictures: Happy Gwen Frostic Day!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been a fan of Gwen Frostic since I was a little girl.  My mother visited the Gwen Frostic studio with her parents, and she has taken my sister and me where I started my collection of Ms. Frostic’s beautiful stationary and greeting cards with her iconic nature designs.
Since today is Gwen Frostic day, I thought it was only appropriate for the link of the day to be from one of my favorite blogs here on WordPress: Michigan in Pictures.  Click on the link above and check out the honoring of Gwen Frostic, and make sure to check out the interview with this amazing woman.
Happy Wednesday All & Happy Gwen Frostic Day!
Link of the Day: Graphic Novel Exposes the Horrors of Slaughterhouses
The Huffington Post:  Graphic Novel Illustrates Animal Cruelty
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This book has the potential to be very powerful.  And I hope it is, and that it sheds light on the way humans treat animals.  To us, animals are objects, not beings, and this graphic novel clearly clarifies that.

I became a vegetarian at the age of 16 after I discovered the horrors of slaughterhouses.  Unfortunately, after 3 years I gave up and went back to eating meat.  I have always regretted my decision of going back to being a meat eater, but after seeing these drawings, I think that I will be going back to being a vegetarian.

Are any of you vegetarians/vegans?

Happy Monday All!

My boyfriend really loves LEGO and has even made his own hippy van out of them:

1,000 pieces and a few weeks for him to complete this! It’s now the center of decoration in our living room.

So I love this bird idea!  If you read the link, it states how you can donate and further this project of LEGO birds!
