Link of the Day: The Little Free Library

Little Free Library

The Huffington Post:  Duayne Samples Builds Little Free Library In Front Yard

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Books are important: they expand and excite the imagination, take you around the world, and teach you real-life lessons.  However, with modern-day technology, video games, and TV, less and less children are actually reading, let alone going to libraries.
Duayne Samples, a resident of Folsom, California, found an opportunity to bring books closer to home and promote the importance of reading.  Setting up a mail-box type structure, he built the ‘Little Free Library’.  It’s motto is, “Take a book.  Leave a book.  Or do both.” and so far, it has gained recognition and praise.
Check out the link above to see a video of Samples’ ‘Little Free Library’, and how this convenient creation is empowering both the community and the imagination.
Happy Wednesday All & Keep Reading!
Best Parents Ever
The Huffington Post:  Where the Wild Things Are: Some of the Best Costumes and Tattoos Paying Tribute
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I love the above picture!  The headline on The Huff Post for this reads, “Best Parents Ever”.  I agree!

I haven’t read the book – I know, I know! – but I have had it on my TBR list for some time now, especially after I saw the movie.

But I do want to say: R.I.P Maurice Sendak.  You are with the wild things now.

Happy Tuesday All!

Link of the Day: ‘Three Cups of Tea’ Scandal Continues

Three Cups Of Tea

The Huffington Post:  ‘Three Cups of Tea’ Author, Greg Mortensen, Sued by Readers for Book Fabrications

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Come on, people!  The whole part of reading is to experience a story, whether that story is fiction or non!  ’A Million Little Pieces’ was one of my favorite books, and yes it did piss me off when I found out that James Frey lied throughout practically the entire book, but it’s still an amazing read!
‘Three Cups of Tea’ is on my TBR list, and regardless of whether everything actually happened how Mortensen relates it or not, I will probably enjoy it because everyone says it’s a great travel story.  And that’s why I bought it!
What do you think?  Those of you who have read ‘Three Cups of Tea’, was there anything that seemed off about it?  Do you think that Greg Mortensen fabricated his story, and if yes, do you think he should be punished?
Happy Thursday All!
