Woman Killed Over Missing Halloween Candy

Well apparently, even adults get angry when there’s no candy during Halloween.

According to the Huffington Post Chicago, Ledell Peoples, a Chicago man, killed his friend Maria Adams after a bag of candy went missing and he suspected that she took it.  Maria Adams was stabbed multiple times with “several steak knives” last Monday night, on Halloween.  Adams eventually died at Stroger Hospital on Saturday night.  After the autopsy of Adams is completed, first-degree murder will most likely be filed against Ledell Peoples.

Ledell Peoples

People, especially this Peoples (the guy’s last name), disgust me.  How could a missing bag of candy ignite such an anger inside him that he must stab his friend?  What is the world coming to if something as little as this causes murder?

I continue to keep updated with the news even though 50% of the articles are about murder trials or people being murdered.  It frustrates me – however, not enough for me stab someone – to see such sad articles.  And it disappoints me that people are so hateful, violent, and just plain stupid.

This guy should definitely be charged with first-degree murder.  Someone like this, someone who murders over missing candy, should not be allowed to roam the streets.

What do you think?  Should Ledell Peoples be charged with first-degree murder?  What angers you about the world today?

Daily Question

Q:

When is intelligence not enough?

A:

When you don’t have an imagination to go with it.

When you have no sense of humor and can only take yourself seriously.

When you can’t stop to look at the little things in life.

Q:

What is the #1 key to happiness?

A:

Each person has their own personal “key” to happiness, but for me, I think that imagination is the key to happiness.

Like my favorite quote says:  ”Imagination is the one weapon in the war against reality.”

Daily Question

Q:

Why did you leave your last job?

A:

My last job was teaching English as a foreign language here in Madrid, Spain, and I stopped teaching because I realized that A) I sucked, and B) I just did not like teaching.

I never wanted to be a teacher, but had to do it so I could have money to live here in Spain.  I worked in both private classes and group classes, and while I liked the private – going to my student’s home or them coming to mine – much better than when I was teaching in the school, it just really wasn’t for me.

Not only did lesson planning take up a lot of time, and some nights I would be awake until 2 in the morning trying to figure out what my next class lesson would be, but I would also dread going to work the next day.

Anyway, so you don’t have to hear me complain anymore, I did NOT like teaching and that’s why I “left” my last job.

Daily Question

Q:

What are two things you strongly dislike?

A:

1) Sports that feature animals.  I don’t think that animals should be exploited for our entertainment.  Horse racing, dog racing, circuses that use animals, and of course, especially dog fighting, these all shouldn’t be allowed.

2) Sharing food.  I HATE sharing food.  I don’t know why, I just highly dislike it.  Maybe it’s because I’m an eater and love to have my own food, but whatever it is, I just can’t stand sharing food.  It literally makes me nervous.

Q:

What’s your purpose?

A:

I’m a very imaginative and creative person.  I feel that my purpose in life is to inspire the world with my writing and photography.

My dream is to travel the world, and write and photograph the places I go, the people I meet and the things I see, so I hope to accomplish this and inspire people, through my writings and photography.

I also plan on writing about animals, and I would like to become a voice for animals.  This could be my main purpose and allow me to educate people about animals and their habitats so humans and animals can live in peace with one another.

Daily Question

Q:

What’s something that happened to you that made you stronger?

A:

I think leaving all my family, friends, my home State – which I have lived my entire life – and my home country, and moving to Spain – where I currently reside – to live with my boyfriend, whom I had met only a few months earlier, is one thing that has made me stronger.

From the move, I learned independence, I experienced things I would’ve never been able to if I had stayed in the States, and I’m an all around better person, more open-minded.

Personally, I think everyone needs to travel – if not live – in another country, another place that’s out of their comfort zone.  Experiencing another culture and being immersed with people that aren’t “usual” to you is an amazing experience and one that definitely makes you stronger.

Daily Question

Q:

What’s something everyone needs to discover for themselves?

A:

Well, there are a few things that I feel are important for every person to discover for themselves.

First off, their soul mate or the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with.  I personally think that arranged marriages are wrong.  Children shouldn’t be forced to marry someone that their parents think are right for them, they should be able to choose on their own.  Yes, yes, I know it’s a culture and a tradition in some countries, but I don’t agree with it.  Everyone deserves the right to discover their own lifelong partner.

Another important decision that people should discover for themselves is what their dreams and ambitions are.  No child, or adult, should be pressured to work in a career, live in a home and/or lead a lifestyle that isn’t right for them and one that they don’t personally like.  Every person needs their own identity and many times, ones dreams and ambitions create that identity.  Everyone deserves a right to discover what their own dreams and ambitions in life are.
