~ Births:

1952: Sharon Osbourne –

Famously known as Ozzy Osbourne‘s wife, Sharon Osbourne is much more than that.  She is also a television host, music manager, author, businesswoman and promoter and is currently one of five co-hosts on The Talk.

Sharon was born in Brixton, London in 1952 and her current residence is in Buckinghamshire, England and California, USA.


~ Deaths:

– 1967: Che Guevara– 

Che Guevara, a major figure of the Cuban Revolution, was captured on October 8th, 1967 in Bolivia.  The next day, October 9th, he was executed by being gunned down nine times.

Before his execution, Che was asked by a Bolivian soldier if he was thinking about his own immortality.  Che answered, “No, I’m thinking about the immortality of the revolution.”  When his executioner, Mario Teran, came into the hut that Che was kept in, Che told Teran, “I know you’ve come to kill me.  Shoot coward!  You are only going to kill a man!”


~ Events:

– 1820: Guayaquil declares independence from Spain. –

Guayaquil is located in Ecuador

Guayaquil, the largest and most populous city in Ecuador, was founded on July 25th, 1538 by Spanish conquistador, Fracisco de Orellana.

On October 9th, 1820, a group of civilians arrested the Spanish authorities and claimed independence from Spain.
